British Exploring Society Chair
We are looking for a Chair to support the CEO in continuing the transformation of British Exploring Society into a highly effective and scaleable agent of change in the lives of young people. The Chair is responsible for providing leadership to the Council, enabling it to fulfil its responsibilities for the overall governance and strategy of the charity and in partnership with the Treasurer, lead on guardianship of the charity’s financial integrity.
The commitment: The Council meets four times a year; has an AGM and there are at least four finance committee meetings a year. The Chair is expected to be available for these and for a limited number of
other annual and one-off meetings which are typically held at our office at the Royal Geographical Society in South Kensington, West London.
