Join an expedition

British Exploring Society expeditions are designed to be life-changing. We can take you to some of the most remote and challenging parts of the world; places where you’ll see and do things you never thought possible and find qualities within yourself that you never knew were there.

It doesn’t matter where your starting point is; you’ll return with a more confidence in your own abilities; greater resilience, determination and courage - and a sense of self-belief that will stay with you for life. Some of our expeditions are open to all young people, while others are run with partners to reach specific groups, such as the socially disadvantaged and disabled people. See below.

Canadian Yukon

Trek and/or paddle your way through the unspoilt wilderness of Canada’s Yukon; explore lakes and mountains and camp beneath the stars with new friends-for-life.

Scouts Amazon 2020

A chance for… Scout Network members to explore the Peruvian Amazon, take part in scientific fieldwork and document the adventure through creative media projects

Landmark 2019

Experience a true adventure with a expedition to Dartmoor and an overseas expedition to Saimaa Lakes, Finland. To be eligible, you must be aged 16 – 21 and engaged in a regular service offered by Power2.

A chance for… young people using a Catch-22 service to spend three weeks exploring the volcanoes, steaming geysers, hot springs, and bubbling mud pools of the Icelandic wilderness.

A chance for… disabled and non-disabled young people to travel across the North Atlantic on a tall ship and take part in a challenging adventure on land. This is a project run in partnership with Jubilee Sailing Trust.
