The Chief Scientist will take overall responsibility for all scientific fieldwork taking place on the expedition, including the development of suitable scientific objectives and offering guidance and training to the individual group (“Fire”) Science Leaders and Explorers.
It is likely that the Chief Scientist will also act as a Fire Leader, working with up to 12 Explorers alongside a second Fire Leader who will have responsibility for the adventurous aspects of the expedition. The Science Fire Leader is responsible for constructing a scientific project with the consultation of the Chief Scientist.
Compulsory training dates: Leader Induction: 21st-23rd February 2020 (TBC), Leader Training: 27th-29th March 2020 Cumbria, Explorer Briefing 24th-26th April 2020, 16hr Wilderness First Aid Course May 2020 (TBC).
Please note that first time Leaders will be asked to cover the costs of their own flights on our Indian Himalayas and Peruvian Amazon expeditions.
