An inspiring group of fundraisers

By British Exploring Society,

Our Development Board raises over £120,000 for the charity.

Over the last month our Development Board has been hard at work taking on a series of challenges to help raise funds for British Exploring Society. The Development Board is a volunteer group of business, professional and philanthropic donors, who primarily support our fundraising, but also help us meet our wider charitable aims.

The Urban Challenge Team

In August the Urban Challenge team led by Rahul Moodgal and Stuart Denard undertook a race across the heart of London, which included a speedboat from Embankment to Canary Wharf, a run from Stratford to Greenwich Peninsula and a climb onto the roof of the O2 Arena.

Team Knoydart

At the start of September, Arabella Connell and Carlotta Newbury’s team undertook a three-day wilderness adventure to cross Knoydart Peninsula on the West coast of Scotland, which saw them cover over 30km and 1646 metres of ascent.

Team Lakes

And last weekend in the Lake District, Tim Passingham and Jon Slade together led two teams to hike 40km and take on four peaks, climbing to a combined 30,000 metres of ascent between them.

The Development Board set themselves a combined target of £90,000. Our three teams have so far raised an incredible £120,000. Funds at this scale are instrumental in supporting us to deliver transformative experiences for young people.

If you’d like to help these inspiring fundraisers to take their total higher, please show your appreciation of their weather-beating and fear-overcoming efforts by donating to their campaign using the button below.
