Through our partnership with the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, this year’s programme aims to encourage you to make connections between your home and the untamed wilderness of the Antarctic. To apply newfound knowledge and experiences to your local surroundings and beyond.

How do I join?

Sign up. You will then receive a welcome pack via email. Once you’re signed up, we will schedule a call with you so we can get to know you better, and so you can ask us any question you might have.
Prepare. To join the online sessions, all you will need is a smartphone, tablet or laptop with a mic and a camera, and access to a good internet connection.
Take part. Our Wildestan Experts and all the other Young Adventurers will meet you at our Zoom basecamp to start the virtual adventure later this year!
Fundraising. If you decide to join the residential weekend you will be asked to make a charitable donation of £20 to British Exploring Society.

Why the special treatment?

Because completing Wildestan and joining us for the Wildestan residential weekend are a great start to learning the skills needed for expedition life. You’ll be well on the way to becoming a Young Explorer. We want to reward that commitment by offering you further opportunities for adventure.

For this chapter of Wildestan Adventures, we have partnered with the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust.

The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust (UKAHT) is a charity working to help current and future generations discover, understand and protect Antarctica. They care for six designated Historic Sites and Monuments on the Antarctic Peninsula representing the birth of British climate science on the continent. These 20th century heritage sites hold extraordinary stories of human survival and discovery and are completely unique in the world. Their flagship site is the world’s most southerly public Post Office and museum, Port Lockroy, where this season’s Wildestan Experts are based.

This season’s Wildestan Experts will be joining us from the world’s most southerly public Post Office and museum, Port Lockroy. The site has a long history as a home for explorers, whalers, scientists, and sailors who have made vital contributions to Antarctic history. We are thrilled to be able to help this year’s Wildestan Young Adventurers connect with the site from the comfort of your own home.
