Where is Wildestan?

Photo Gallery

Photographs have the ability to influence people's emotions and inspire them. As an Explorer, photography can be an incredibly useful tool for science, education and storytelling.

We gave our Wildestan Explorers the challenge of representing 'the wilderness where you stand' through photography. Here's a selection of the great photography that they submitted.

"Cardinal beetle. I saw this in the woods, it is a bright spectacular red. The feelers reminded me of deer antlers. The photo captured their mini world." By William Sharpley Wildestan Explorer

"Through the fog, tension in the air." By Kate Mckay Wildestan Explorer

"These pictures are in Colombia, my home country, and it shows the natural beauty that this country has, but sadly we don't respect this and are ending it thinking it will be there forever. This is more reason to fight for it and educate everyone in the world about the unique animals and ecosystems in this country, for example the hummingbird or the "Paramo"." By Andres Camilo Quintero Wildestan Explorer

"Mayfly. The riverbank was full of mayflies. This one was resting on the grass. It is a very quiet area. It was peaceful." By William Sharpley Wildestan Explorer

"For me, wilderness where you stand means that you will always be surrounded with nature and humans must embrace and learn to live in harmony with it, with respect and by caring about it." By Andres Camilo Quintero Wildestan Explorer

"Through the fog, tension in the air." By Kate Mckay Wildestan Explorer

"It makes me feel relaxed and with absolute enjoyment." By Andres Camilo Quintero Wildestan Explorer

"Dunnock's nest in my garden. I saw the chicks in the nest but didn't see them fledge. They left one amazing egg behind, the colour is wonderful." By William Sharpley Wildestan Explorer
