2026 Expeditions Coming Soon…

Our 2026 expedition participants will be mainly (but not exclusively) recruited from those taking part in 2025 UK Adventures.

EXPEDITION APPLICATIONS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSEDJOIN A UK ADVENTURE IN 2025

Ready to Find Your Fire? Start your journey to expedition with British Exploring Society.

How our expeditions tend to work:

As you and your team build confidence within the wilderness, you will start to navigate your way from base camp over longer distances and for longer periods of time. The pace of activities and projects you undertake will be influenced by the decisions you make as a team and guided by the expertise of the highly competent and qualified leadership team. Activities may include trekking your way through lush valleys and taking in sights on top of breathtaking ridges, and using navigation and bushcraft skills required to safely wild camp. Over this time, your Fire (team) will have the autonomy to organise, plan and carry out meaningful knowledge and media projects in an exciting wilderness environment.

Led by experts, our expeditions are designed to take you out of your comfort zone in a challenging yet safe environment, with a real focus on the skills and personal development you will gain from the experience. The safety and support of our Explorers is the cornerstone on which we build and develop an expedition from conception through to departure and return.

The vast majority of young people return from our expeditions with a wealth of new-found practical skills, new friends-for-life and a real sense of personal development – all of which can have tangible benefits for the future.

Our full scale-expedition programmes will also provide you with  UK-based training, and a training expedition.
