The aim...
Recently, an intrepid team of fundraisers undertook a gruelling 3-day crossing of Knoydart, in aid of British Exploring Society.
Led by the dynamic duo of Arabella and Carlotta, everyone made it safely across the remote Scottish peninsula. In the process, they have so far raised nearly £45,000 in charitable donations to support our programmes.
It was organised and led by two of our Development Board – Arabella (Belsie) Connell and Carlotta Newbury.
In designing this challenge, they wanted to give their team of participants a sense of British Exploring Society’s tried and tested method of personal development through challenge and adventure.
Over the three days they covered 37km, and climbed from sea level to 1,300m, across tough terrain.
“I was very much at my limit but I am so grateful…”
“I can only begin to imagine the wealth of good that a three week expedition in an amazing place, organised with so much thought and heart, can bring to those lucky young participants. You must be really proud of the charity’s work!”

							Joined by a legend...
In addition to our CEO, Honor, the team were also joined by a British Exploring Society legend – Bruce Manning.
Bruce has lead multiple expeditions for us over several decades of voluntary service.
He has been with the charity as it has evolved, and few people know the nature of our work better than him.
With gift-aid included, the Knoydart fundraisers have nearly hit their target of £50,000. At the time of writing they are at just under £45,000.
If you’d like to help them get across the finish line, there is still time to donate! You can use the link below to head to their fundraiser page.
Thank you.
