For this chapter of Wildestan Adventures, we have partnered with Oman 3165.

Starting in November 2025, Oman 3165 is a seventy day expedition by kayak along the coastline of Oman. In celebration of World Maritime Day, the expedition is capturing stories of innovation and biodiversity, and celebrating Oman’s rich maritime heritage.

The expedition is being led by Mark Evans. Mark was the founding director of Outward Bound Oman, the first Outward Bound school in the Arabic speaking world. In 2012 he was awarded an MBE for his work using challenging outdoor journeys for personal development and learning.

Mark was a Young Explorer with British Exploring Society in 1979 and then a Chief Leader for us on three expeditions to Svalbard, including an entire year over-wintering, with 4 months of total darkness.

3165 Expedition Resources

Mark’s expedition is underway, and as part of the project they’re documenting the journey throughout.

Ahead of our Wildestan Oman sessions in January, here’s a few resources to check in and see how they’re getting on, and to understand the types of research they’re undertaking as they go.
