This Adventure Week takes British Exploring Society’s unique approach, based around Adventure, Knowledge and Personal Development, to the Scottish Highlands. It’s one of two Adventure Weeks that we run in the UK.
A wild-camping expedition in the heart of the Scottish Highlands offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the UK’s most dramatic and remote environments. Surrounded by towering mountains, ancient forests, and pristine lochs, you’ll learn survival skills, navigation, and environmental awareness in a truly wild setting. This adventure will challenge you to connect with nature and embrace the beauty and solitude of Scotland’s highlands, where you might encounter wildlife like red deer and golden eagles while camping under vast, star-filled skies.
Whilst this is a complete and self-contained activity, it may also act as a stepping stone onto future adventures and our full-scale expedition programmes.
Please note you must be a British citizen or UK resident to join one of our programmes.
It grew my social skills, fitness, care for the environment and self-awareness...

Led by experts, the programme has been designed to take you out of your comfort zone in a challenging yet safe environment, with a real focus on the skills and personal development you will gain from the experience. The safety and support of our Young Adventurers is the cornerstone on which we build and develop our programmes, from conception through to departure and return.
The vast majority of young people return from our programmes and expeditions with a wealth of new-found practical skills, new friends-for-life and a real sense of personal development – all of which can have tangible benefits for the future.
It doesn't matter where your starting point is; you'll return with more confidence in your own abilities; greater resilience, determination and courage - and a sense of self-belief that will stay with you for life.
